Hulvey Canceled a Sold-Out Show to Protect the Kids
Hulvey had a SOLD OUT show in Amsterdam. One hour before he was set to take the stage, he walked away from it.
Why? The venue had been switched without telling his team, and the new room was covered in pornographic images and explicit objects. He asked them to cover the walls. They refused, offered to cover part of a bar, and that was it.
So he canceled. The first show he has ever canceled. With 7-year-old fans standing outside who came to hear about Jesus.
His words: “I stand for Jesus only” and “if that cost me a show, who cares? I answer to Him.”
What conviction looks like
That is what conviction looks like. Not a post. Not a statement. Money on the table, fans in the rain, and he still said no.
Too many Christian artists will perform anywhere, stand in front of anything, and call it reaching people. You do not reach people by marching their kids past filth and calling it ministry. Jesus said if you cause one of these little ones to stumble, it would be better to have a millstone tied around your neck.
Hulvey protected the little ones and let the show die. More of this. Less compromise dressed up as grace.
See y’all later,
John
