Why I Kept the Followers and Changed the Name
For a long time, my page was called Cross Wave Media.
It was a fine name. It just was not me.
When somebody followed that page, they were not following a media company. They were following a husband and a dad in Mississippi who posts verses, picks a few friendly fights about Bible topics, and tries to say true things in plain words.
So I changed the name to the name: John E. Adams.
I kept the followers. All 2,200 and some of y’all came with me, and I am grateful for that. Changing the sign on the door does not change who is in the house.
Why a blog, and why now
Facebook gets the short version of everything I write. That is the nature of a feed. You scroll, you react, it is gone by supper.
Some things deserve more room than that.
This blog is that room. Every day I will post here in longer form: the full thought, the Scripture worked through instead of just quoted, the story behind the post. If a topic is worth arguing about in the comments, it is worth writing about properly first.
And it lives at johneadams.me, on a site I own, not on a platform that can change the rules tomorrow. That part matters to me more the longer I do this.
What you will get here
Faith and culture, first. The debatable topics, handled honestly.
Devotionals, for the days you just need a verse and a few quiet minutes.
Family life, because that is where my faith gets tested and proven.
And practical life: money, work, the garden, the house. The everyday stuff a family of seven runs on.
One post a day. That is the commitment. Short paragraphs, plain words, no corporate talk. If you have read my posts, you already know the voice. This is just more of it.
One favor
If a post helps you, send it to one person who needs it. Not ten people. One.
That is how this grows, and it is the kind of growing I trust.
Thanks for being here at the start of this.
Best, John
